Ukrainian Federation of Employers in Tourism (UFET) is implementing the initiative “Women’s Leadership in Communities: Inclusive Dialogue and Advocacy for Sectoral Reforms on the Path to the EU at the Local Level” within the project “Supporting the Activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2025–2026,” implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting with financial support from the European Union.
The initiative title: Women’s Leadership in Communities: Inclusive Dialogue and Advocacy for Sectoral Reforms on the Path to the EU at the Local Level
Organization: Ukrainian Federation of Employers in Tourism (UFET), WG5
Objective: The initiative aims to strengthen women’s participation in the business and civic life of their communities, build their capacity to contribute to local decision-making, and disseminate practical tools for developing entrepreneurial and civic initiatives.
To achieve the initiative’s goals, surveys and focus groups were conducted with representatives from partner communities; these sessions identified key barriers and challenges facing women’s entrepreneurship and civic engagement, while also exploring potential strategies and tools to overcome them.
A specific component of the initiative focuses on tools for engaging and empowering women in business and civic activities. These include social entrepreneurship, tourism clusters, community self-organization bodies, consultative and advisory councils within local self-government authorities, opportunities for financial support for businesses and civic initiatives, and digital tools for development.
The initiative is expected to foster greater participation of women in the economic and civic life of their communities, promote dialogue among the public, the business sector, and local self-government bodies, and facilitate the use of practical tools for implementing local initiatives.
We invite representatives from communities, the business and civic sectors, local self-government bodies, and other stakeholders to participate in the initiative’s activities and follow its progress.
