Resource and Analytical Centre “Society and Environment” NGO with partners International Charity Organisation “Green Dossier Information Centre”, as well as members of UNP WG3, have launched the Initiative “Ukraine’s accelerated integration: participation in the European Environmental Agency” within the project “Supporting the Activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2025–2026” implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting with financial support from the European Union.

The name of the initiative: Ukraine’s Accelerated Integration: Participation in the European Environmental Agency

Organization:  RAC “Society and Environment”, International Charitable Organization “Green Dossier Information Center” (UNP WG3).

Objective: To facilitate the acceleration of Ukraine’s integration into the European Environment Agency through civil society’s analytical and advocacy activities and the development of dialogue with government authorities.

Ukraine has joined the European Environment Agency (EEA) as a partner country. This is a significant step toward European integration in the fields of environmental and climate policy.

Natalia Andrusevych, Resource and Analytical Centre “Society and Environment”:

The EEA plays a key role in ensuring the collection, analysis, and exchange of environmental information within the EU, as well as in shaping data-driven policies. Ukraine’s participation in the Agency’s work opens up opportunities for integration into the European environmental monitoring system, improving data quality, and making more informed management decisions.

At the same time, the accession process requires proper preparation by government bodies, a clear understanding of institutional requirements, and coordination among various stakeholders.

The expected results of the project include raising awareness among key stakeholders regarding the role of the EEA, strengthening civil society participation in environmental policy-making, and improving the coordination of government agencies during the process of integration into the EEA.
