The Yavoriv Local Economic Development Agency, as well as members of UNP WG2, have launched the Initiative “Economic aspects of Ukraine in the context of European integration: status of implementation of EU recommendations” within the project “Supporting the Activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2025–2026,” implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting with financial support from the European Union.

The initiative title: Economic aspects of Ukraine in the context of European integration: status of implementation of EU recommendations

Organization: The Yavoriv Local Economic Development Agency, WG2

Objective: To assess the level of implementation of the European Commission’s enlargement report recommendations regarding the development of economic markets in Ukraine, and to identify key areas for further reforms to align Ukraine’s economic system with European Union internal market standards.

Iryna Kuropas, The Yavoriv Local Economic Development Agency:

Ukraine’s accession to the European Union depends not only on political decisions but also on the country’s ability to implement profound economic reforms. How much progress has Ukraine made in fulfilling the European Commission’s recommendations? Which changes have already brought Ukrainian markets closer to EU standards, and what barriers still hinder integration into the Single European Economic Area?

Experts are analyzing the implementation status of recommendations regarding competition, state aid, regulatory policy, customs and tax regulations, and the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for business development. Particular attention will be paid to assessing how effectively adopted decisions function in practice and facilitate Ukraine’s integration into the European Union’s internal market.

Amid the full-scale war and large-scale economic recovery, the quality of reforms is of particular importance. Therefore, the study will not be limited to an analysis of legislative changes but will focus on identifying tangible results, systemic challenges, and risks that could impact the pace of European integration.

The initiative also includes plans for consultations with representatives of central government bodies, regional administrations, local self-government authorities, the business community, and experts. The work will culminate in an analytical report containing practical recommendations for public policy and the further alignment of Ukraine’s economic system with EU standards.

The study’s findings will serve not only as a tool for the public monitoring of reforms but also as a platform for professional dialogue among government, business, and civil society regarding Ukraine’s future economic development within the European space.
