The Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (hereinafter UNP EaP CSF) is a community that upholds human rights and the equality of human rights and freedoms as the highest social value. Achieving social equality between women and men is essential for democratic and sustainable development in Ukrainian society.
Equality between women and men, as well as non-discrimination, are core EU values and fundamental rights enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union and Articles 21 and 23 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. In line with these principles, UNP EaP CSF contributes to the objectives outlined in the joint working document “Strategy for the Development of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum until 2030” by promoting gender equality and combating discrimination.
Through its work, UNP EaP CSF fosters equal opportunities for diverse social groups in Ukrainian society, respecting diversity and treating every individual fairly and impartially.
UNP EaP CSF values human dignity and recognizes the diverse needs and interests of various social groups, fostering success at both individual and societal levels.
UNP upholds human rights principles and strives to advance gender equality across all areas of activity. To this end, we commit to fostering conditions that ensure equal opportunities for women, men, and persons of other gender identities, whilst also tackling gender stereotypes, violence, and discrimination.
UNP EaP CSF acknowledges that gender inequality persists across various spheres of Ukrainian society, where women and men may encounter structural, physical, and psychological barriers, resulting in marginalization and violations of human rights.
UNP EaP CSF channels its efforts towards promoting equality and tackling gender-based discrimination, supporting equal access to self-realisation for both women and men.
UNP EaP CSF recognises the benefits of engaging both women and men in its work and takes steps to remove barriers to their equal participation in platform activities.
