On September 18, 2024, the UNP Steering Committee held an online meeting, which was devoted to discussing the preparation of the Position document of the UNP, which will be discussed as part of the Annual Conference.

To involve members of the platform in the preparation of the Position paper, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed with questions related to the challenges of the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and their consideration (currently and possible in the future) in the initiatives of the Eastern Partnership.

The responses of the platform members were analyzed and systematized, and the CC members discussed the possibility of integrating the responses into a position paper.

The UNP members mentioned a number of challenges of post-war reconstruction that are common, regardless of the field in which they work: personnel shortage, low public involvement, lack of funding, institutional weakness. And everyone, without exception, considers the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine to be the main threat.

Regarding the priority areas for work in the future within the framework of the S&P, the interviewees named security, as well as the issues they deal with (economic, environmental, social, energy, etc.).

We will remind that position documents are traditionally prepared for discussion during the annual conference of the UNP. This year, taking into account the strategic plan of the UNP and the challenges facing Ukraine, we chose the topic of the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and its place in the initiatives of the CS.

The event is implemented within the framework of the project “”Supporting the activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2024”, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting.
