The joint meeting of the WG4 of the UNP and the WG6 of the CSP was held on May 7 in online format.

The main purpose of the meeting. To inform the group members about the latest events in the UNP and CSP. To exchange information and proposals on possible topics of cooperation and the plan of activities of the groups. Discuss current challenges in the areas of interest of group members. Find points of contact between the two groups. To form topics on which group members will work together in 2024.

Agenda.

  1. Trends of 2024 in the field of education, science, culture, and international cooperation. Emphasis on problematic issues, which are approaches to their solution
  2. Results of the selection of delegates to the Assembly of the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership
  3. Preparation of initiatives for financing from the UNP of the Russian Federation
  4. Proposals for the position of NGOs at EaP Sixth informal meeting on research and innovation at expert level
  5. Proposals for a joint declaration of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform. The meeting is scheduled for June 14.

  • In his introductory speech, Ivan Kulchytskyi, coordinator of the WG4 of the UNP and the WG6 of the CSP, briefly presented the agenda of the meeting, provided information on the main UNP anf CSP events, and invited the participants to participate more actively in the events of the two pro-European platforms.
  • Marina Gutgarts spoke in detail about the new period of UNP activities within the framework of the support project ”Supporting the activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2024”, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting. Mrs. Maryna invited to submit proposals regarding the initiatives of 2024 and answered the participants of the meeting to a number of questions regarding the requirements for the implementation of the initiatives.
  • Olena Lazorenko informed about the activities of her organization in the field of adult education and informed about the intention to prepare a proposal for an initiative from WG4 for 2024.
  • Kolyshko Rodion informed the audience about the features of the new draft Law on professional education.

Results of the meeting.

  • Members of the groups agreed to continue communication in the mode of electronic exchange.
  • To discuss in the working order proposals from Ms. Olena Lazorenko regarding the new initiative for 2024 from UNP WG4.
  • To monitor the activities of other organizations in the field of priorities of WG4 of the UNP and WG6 of the CSP with the aim of expanding cooperation and advocacy of public interests in the field of education, culture, youth, science, digitalization and innovative development.

In accordance with Articles 469-470 of the Association Agreement, the Platform officially represents the interests of civil society of Ukraine and the EU in the process of implementation of the Agreement, monitors and publicly controls its implementation. From the Ukrainian side, the Platform includes 15 members – representatives of public associations, trade unions and employers’ organizations. Under their auspices, the CSS unites 282 organizations.
