On April 16, 2024, the UNP Steering Committee held an online meeting, which was devoted to the formation of the final list of Forum delegates for 2024-2026 from Ukraine and the determination of priority areas for initiatives within the framework of the project “Supporting the activities of the UNP in 2024”.
The following draft Agenda was proposed for consideration:
- Results of voting on candidates for Forum delegates. Formation of the final list of delegates (voting results, compliance with quotas)
- Admission of new members to the UNP
- Determination of priority areas for initiatives within the framework of the project “Supporting the UNP in 2024”
- Other
UNP Secretary M. Gutgarts provided information to the UNP SC members about the voting results by the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the EaP Working groups coordinators and the results of the voting by the members of the UNP.
86 organizations from Ukraine registered as Forum delegates. This is the highest indicator among all EaP countries. The Secretariat of the Forum provided the lists of registered participants and the results of voting by the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the coordinators of the WG of the Forum.
The UNP Secretariat organized voting by UNP members for Forum delegates, which lasted from April 11 to 15, 2024. The 38 UNP member organizations, representing all WGs of the UNP, took part in the vote.
The UNP SC members formed a list of 20 candidates for EaP CSF delegates for the period 2024-2026 from Ukraine, observing the requirements of quotas and rules.
Determination of priority directions for initiatives within the project “Supporting the activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2024”
Ruslan Havryliuk proposed to hold a meeting of the UNP WGs on the eve of the meetings of the EaP CSF WGs. He also expressed his opinion on the importance of involving the newly elected delegates of the Forum to the meetings of the groups.
The National Coordinator noted the importance of conducting consultations in the WG and providing information to group members about support and preparation within the initiative of the statement on behalf of the Platform, which should strengthen its role.
According to the decision of the UNP SC members, two cross-cutting priorities (consequences of the war/prospects of recovery and advocacy of membership in the EU) should be reflected in the topics of the initiatives.
Within the framework of the initiatives, it is important to strengthen the cooperation between the UNP WGs and the National Platforms of the EaP CSF and the advocacy component of the initiatives.
It was decided to hold a joint meeting of the UNP SC and the Project Supervisory Board in May 2024.
After getting acquainted with the package of documents, the CC of the UNP unanimously accepted the Civil Liberties Center as a member of the Working Group 1 “Democracy, human rights, good governance and stability” of the UNP.
The event is implemented within the framework of the project “”Supporting the activities of the Ukrainian National Platform of the EaP CSF in 2024”, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting.
