NGO “Kremenchuk Anti-Corruption Centre”, UNP WG1 member, launched the Initiative “Prospects for Recovery and Advocacy for EU Membership: the Regional Dimension” within the project “Supporting the activities of the UNP EaP CSF 2021-2023”, which is implemented by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting with the financial support of the European Union.

Duration: May – September 2023

Objective: To familiarize and implement the national and local legal framework in line with the EU and to explain the provisions of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in two regions of Ukraine (Poltava and Kirovohrad regions).

As part of the Initiative, it is planned to:

Conduct study on the prospects for recovery and advocacy for EU membership. To review and implement the national and local legal framework in line with the EU and explain the provisions of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in two regions of Ukraine (Poltava and Kirovohrad).

Prepare an analytical report on responding to the challenges of war and protecting rights and freedoms, gender equality and non-discrimination.

Hold roundtable discussions “National Action Plan: How Does it Work on the Ground?” in Poltava and Kirovohrad regions;

Hold roundtable discussions “Transparency and Accountability of Authorities during the War. What Needs to be Changed in the Local Regulations?” in Poltava and Kirovohrad regions;

Hold roundtables “Women and Girls: War and Reconstruction. What are the Prospects in the EU?” in Poltava and Kirovohrad regions.

Adopt at least two legislative acts at the local level promoting Ukraine’s membership of the EU and mainstreaming anti-discrimination issues.

Based on the results, existing local self-government security programs will be amended.
