We present the research of the Public Union “Agency for Local Economic Development of Yavoriv Region” (WG2 UNP) “Transformation of Civil Society in Ukraine in the Economic and European Integration Dimension” in the framework of the initiative of the same name.
We continue to share the results of initiatives supported by the UNP in 2021 under the project “Support to the Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (UNP EaP CSF) in 2021-2023”, administered by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting funded by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and the European Union.
Purpose of the initiative. To study the development of civil society in Ukraine at the present stage, to analyze obstacles to the achievement of European standards of institutionalization of the sector by civil society organizations and to propose concrete steps for the development of a powerful civil society in Ukraine a society that will act on the same principles as in the developed countries of the world, adapting to the Ukrainian soil advanced forms and methods of social and political activity.
The result of this initiative is the Analytical Document “Transformation of Civil Society in Ukraine in the Economic and European Integration Dimension”, which highlights the features of the development of civil society in Ukraine; the main obstacles and risks that limit the potential for the development of domestic civil society institutions in the context of European integration; priority areas and tools for increasing the economic and institutional capacity of Ukrainian civil society, taking into account the European integration experience and best practices of EU member states; mechanisms to increase the efficiency of the UNP EaP CSF and the means of improving its interaction with the Ukrainian side of Civil Society Platform Ukraine – EU in the context of building the economic potential of civil society in Ukraine and strengthening its institutional capacity.
Information and advocacy campaigns
The presentation of this Analytical Document took place on October 4, 2021 in the framework of the meeting of the WG 2 UNP and in the framework of the Annual Conference of the UNP on November 10, 2021
As part of the initiative, proposals were prepared for public authorities to promote the development of civil society in Ukraine.
An important stage of the communication and advocacy strategy was personal meetings with representatives of the Department of Communications and Internal Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration, presentation of proposals for public authorities to promote the development of civil society in Ukraine.
“The proposed study contains recommendations and proposals for public authorities to promote civil society in Ukraine, which will help establish a constructive dialogue and effective partnership between government and NGOs,” – said in a letter of recommendation from the Department of Communications and Internal Policy of Lviv Regional State Administration.
