EaP CSF Project “Preparation of Policy Paper on Management of the Transboundary Emerald site of the Emerald Network of Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, and the Republic of Moldova”.
The Project Implementation Team completed task №4 to prepare a list of species of common conservation interest to neighbouring countries for transboundary Emerald sites. Scientists from Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova were involved in the task, which strengthens cooperation on the exchange of experience, the best practices and peer-to-peer learning of members of the Eastern Partnership.
The list of species is presented by aggregated data on protected species, such as the number of species, the percentage of the European population, and the trend in Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, and the Republic of Moldova, which can be used as an indicator of the quality of species conservation.
This additional aggregate data on animal species adds capacity for statistical analysis, which will be used in a generalized reporting format to exchange data with the EU and between countries, ministries, local authorities, and NGOs to achieve specific conservation objectives.
