On September 13, 2021, the staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine together with the Eastern Europe Foundation held a monthly meeting with representatives of international organizations providing technical assistance to the Parliament, during which the results of the study on of the ninth convocation “, conducted by the Eastern Europe Foundation.

Member of the Steering Committee of the UNP EaP CSF, Chairman of the National Ecological Center of Ukraine Ruslan Gavrilyuk, commenting on the analysis of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted the lack of systematic analysis of the European integration component in the Ukrainian parliament. In particular, the state of implementation in the legislative field of the provisions of the Association Agreement, which is not only an integral part of national legislation, but also a guide to its development, is not covered. In addition, Ruslan Gavrilyuk noted that the European Green Course and the new Eastern Partnership policy to be adopted at the end of 2021 should also be reflected in the work of the Ukrainian Parliament, in particular on ensuring Ukraine’s environmental and climate sustainability as a cross-cutting priority in Ukraine’s future relations with EU. The Ukrainian National Platform, as a platform uniting pro-European civil society organizations, is interested in objective control of the approximation of Ukrainian legislation to the European one, including under the Association Agreement, which can be an important component of further donor support to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
